Double-Hung Windows
The beautiful thing about a double-hung window is the fact that you can open them up on both ends. The sash is able to be opened from the bottom as well as the top. They still stay inside the frame while they are both opened and closed.
Casement Windows
To open a casement window, there is a crank that when turned, will open the windows outward. The hinge in found either on the left side or the right, depending on which way you want to be opening the window.
Awning Windows
While casement windows are opened using a crank and hinged on the sides, an awning window will have the hinges on the top of the window. They are often installed either on top or beneath a window that is either operating or stationary.

If you have a large, spacious wall, what better than a large and spacious window to compliment it? If you are looking for a window that will provide you with the maximum viewing pleasure, the large, solid pane of a picture window is the best choice.
Transom Window
These windows are usually installed above a door or other window to let in more light. They can either be operating as well as stationary. They are usually a narrow shape.

Single Hung Windows
If your window can only open on the bottom portion of the window, this is known as a single hung window. It is much like the double hung window, it just doesn’t have the benefit of opening both ways.
